Route 481 Ramp Closing
Please be advised that on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 during the night time hours the existing Westbound 1-70 to Route 481 ramp will be closed and the newly constructed ramp opened. In addition, the alternating traffic on Route 481 will shift from the Northbound Lanes to the Southbound Lanes. During this phase of Route 481 reconstruction all traffic wishing to travel 1-70 West will be required to follow the detour and travel East on 1-70 to the Route 43 Interchange to loop around to 1-70 Westbound. Nighttime Lane Restrictions Interstate 70 at Route 481 Interchange
Fallowfield Twp., Washington County

Uniontown, PA - PennDOT District 12 would like to advise motorists that they will encounter nighttime single closures on Interstate 70 at the Route 481 Interchange (Exit 35) now through April 1 between 8 pm and 7 am.

These nighttime restrictions will be in place so that line eradication, line painting, setting barrier and paving can occur as the Interstate 70 / Route 481 Interchange project continues. Motorists are urged to watch for changing traffic patterns.

This project in Fallowfield Township is for the reconstruction of I-70 at Route 481 interchange (Monongahela/Centerville Exits) as well as removal of the Route 2035 (Crossridge Rd) structure and improvements to Kennedy Road. It includes replacing the structure that carries I-70 over Route 481 in addition improving the interchange. The contractor on this $24.7 million project is Gulisek Construction LLC.

Motorists are reminded to drive with caution and be alert when entering a work zone.
